This Beckhoff condition monitoring demo shows how you can apply PC-based control technology for condition monitoring in hazardous areas common to the process industries. It shows how signals from the field can be acquired by our intrinsically safe ELX series EtherCAT Terminals, processed in real time on our PC-based machine controllers and then displayed immediately on Ex-rated CPX Control Panels. While the video shows a mixing tank, the principles could be applied across numerous process industry applications.
Through a fully integrated approach, condition monitoring systems can overcome the common challenges of interoperability, computing power and data handling, and incomplete solutions. Engineers across industries can use these advantages to implement a more comprehensive condition-based monitoring (CBM) program.
