TwinCAT Power Functions deliver modular, ready-to-use software for precise power measurement and control. From real-time diagnostics and phase monitoring to grid-compliant power plant control, these software modules—TF8330, TF8350, and TF8360—enable fast integration, advanced analytics, and seamless communication via MQTT, OPC UA, and HTTP REST.

Integrated measurement technology simplifies energy monitoring with easy-to-retrofit power sensors and the EL3475 EtherCAT terminal. The solution enables precise measurements, fast installation, and transparent power distribution analysis—helping operators replace analog devices, optimize grid performance, and comply with Section 14a EnWG for smarter, more efficient energy management.
Beckhoff’s open Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) provides precise, time-synchronized phase measurements for power networks. With the EL3783 terminal for power monitoring, the EL6689 terminal for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) connectivity, and TwinCAT 3 software, we enable microsecond fault detection, 3-phase monitoring, GNSS/EtherCAT sync, and flexible data transmission.
Beckhoff offers a complete communication solution for EV charging infrastructures. Supporting OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1, we enable charging control, local load management, and billing via CSMS. With the EL6761 charge controller terminal, vehicle communication is supported through PWM (IEC 61851) and powerline (ISO 15118) for seamless, secure charging integration.

EtherCAT communication technology delivers unmatched real-time performance for energy applications—from wind turbines to power substations. With sub-microsecond synchronization, 1–10 Gbit/s speeds, seamless sensor integration, and the ability to network over fiber optic cables up to 2 km, EtherCAT ensures precise, data-rich measurement and control, enabling efficient, transparent energy management across increasingly connected and intelligent power systems.
TwinCAT Analytics offers a full workflow for energy monitoring in distribution grids, from data acquisition and secure streaming via MQTT to analysis and visualization on web-based dashboards. With drag-and-drop functionality, TwinCAT Scope View integration, and condition monitoring support, users gain clear insights and actionable intelligence for efficient energy management.
Beckhoff’s GNSS communication interface supports all major satellite systems — GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou — for precise global synchronization. It delivers <100 ns accuracy outdoors and <1 µs indoors, meeting IEC 61850 Class T5 standards. Built-in monitoring of signal quality, position, speed, and direction, plus a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO), ensures exceptional reliability.
