AF1000 VFDs from Beckhoff Provide Cost-Effective Solutions for Essential Drive Applications
The new series of compact, economy variable frequency drives will support low to medium power requirements while seamlessly integrating into a robust automation platform

Beckhoff is launching the AF1000 series to provide a reliable and cost-effective variable frequency drive (VFD) solution. The AF1000 devices will power vital drive applications, including conveyor systems, pumps, and fans. The VFD series is fully integrated into the TwinCAT system via EtherCAT, providing the familiar convenience of commissioning and diagnostics found in Beckhoff servo drive technology.
The AF1000 variable frequency drive will be available in two different versions:
-
single-phase supply of 1 x 230 V AC with a power range of 0.37 kW to 1.5 kW
-
three-phase supply of 3 x 400 V AC with a power range of 0.37 kW to 2.2 kW
Both VFD versions are available as a single-axis module or an extremely cost-effective dual-axis module. Supported motor types include asynchronous servomotors and reluctance motors without feedback that are operated in UF mode or vector control.
Despite the drives’ compact dimensions, the AF1000 series incorporates an integrated control power supply, DC link capacitors, and a ballast circuit. The integrated power supply from the DC link generates the control voltage.
The AF1000 VFD series is fully integrated into the TwinCAT system via EtherCAT. Just like Beckhoff’s proven servo drives, the AF1000 is commissioned using TwinCAT Drive Manager 2, meaning users do not need to familiarize themselves with any additional tools.
